Rating Location: the Edge Sports Center, 191 Hartwell Road Bedford Ma Any child that is a first year player in a league or is new to Lexington Little League must be rated to be placed on a spring team. Players returning to a team for a 2nd or 3rd year do not need to attend ratings.
Please arrive by 11:45 for check in. Team Assignments: By registering, you agree to accept the team assignment given by the League. Considerable effort is required to develop the teams for spring. For the T-Ball and Farm leagues, when possible, teams are formed by schools and teammate requests. This cannot be accomplished all the time. For older players, balance of competition is the overriding concern and the primary basis for team assignments. It is important that players going into the draft realize that they are making a commitment. This commitment is based on trying to establish balance for the following year's teams based on this year's draft. Players dropping out early cause an imbalance in a team's ability to compete in the subsequent year(s). Please keep this in mind as you register your child in these leagues. Notification/Schedule: By the second week of April, players should hear from their team manager. If you have not been notified, call the League President in charge of the particular league you indicated on you registration. Preseason games for Baseball Minor and Major leagues and for Softball Senior, Major and Minor leagues start the week of Saturday April 10, 2010. Opening day is Saturday May 1, 2010 and starts off with the traditional Little League Parade beginning at Muzzey Condominiums on Mass Avenue. It goes through Lexington Center and ends at Fitzgerald Field (Center-4). Most teams play two games per week with one practice. Games are played on Saturdays as well as other days of the week. Sundays are used for practice. The season ends as close to the final day of school as possible. Summer Opportunities: Baseball and Softball offer an opportunity to continue to play through the summer months. Both provide a competitive and less competitive program. See your spring Manager for more information. Managers/Coaches: As our League enrollment grows, so does the need for Managers and Coaches. Please note your interest in becoming or remaining a Manager or Coach on the attached registration form. We appreciate your efforts. Umpires: LLL runs its own in-house umpiring program for anyone 15 years or older. Contact Bob McConnell at (781) 862-7935 for more information. We are looking for umpires for both the baseball and softball leagues. Player's Uniforms: Each League provides uniform shirts and hats to its players. Baseball major and minor league players and softball senior, major and minor league players will provide their own uniform sports pants. Baseball uniforms require white pants and softball uniforms require gray pants and may be obtained at any sports outlet. Volunteers: All members of Lexington Little League are volunteers who strive to provide the finest program for the youth of Lexington. We are always in need of additional workers. If you are willing to help, please check the box on you registration form. We are looking for volunteers to help us with our fundraising efforts. This year we will be operating concession stands at the Patriot's Day Parade and Opening Day ceremonies. We also welcome anyone who may provide or donate time, supplies and/or services toward our effort. Please contact Mike Segreve at 781-674-2797. Sponsors: The League welcomes local businesses and organizations to sponsor our Little League Teams. Anyone interested in learning more about sponsoring should check off the sponsorship box on the registration form or contact Lyle Morrison at (h.)781 862-7010 or (w.) 978-287-4100. Photo Day: Photo Day is on Opening Day at the LHS Football Field. Individual and team photos are taken at that time. We plan on having games and fun activities scheduled for that day immediately following the Little League Parade. Spring managers will provide you with more information.
