2012 Lexington Little League

September 2011

For the 2012 spring season, Lexington Little League will hold fall ratings outdoors for Baseball and Softball.  Baseball Minors (9yr & 10yr) and Baseball Majors (11yr & 12Yr) will hold ratings Saturday September 17th and September 24th at the Fiske School. Any child that will be new to Minors or Majors must be rated to be placed on a spring team. The two dates are the only days that we will host ratings. Players returning for another season do not attend ratings, but must register to be placed on a team.

Baseball Major and Minor Registration for 2012 has been extended to October 10th. Farm and Tee Ball registration will close at the end of February.

Additional rating date for Baseball Majors and Minors:
Saturday October 15th at Fiske School @ 4 PM.

If your child cannot attend the assigned time, please attend the October 15th rating date. Please understand that if your child does not attend ratings or register by the deadline, he or she may be placed on a waiting list for the 2012 season.

Players should arrive 15 minute early for check-in and should wear baseball cleats and bring a glove.

Softball Ratings Sessions (Saturday January 7 and Saturday January 21, 1-4 PM)

Rating Location: Lexington High School Fieldhouse

Any child that is a first year player in a league or is new to Lexington Little League must be rated to be placed on a spring team. Players returning to a team for a 2nd or 3rd year do not need to attend ratings. 

Minors Softball Ratings - 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM  

 Majors Softball Ratings - 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM

Baseball Majors and Minors Winter Session

Lexington Little League is offering a winter baseball session at the Rams Athletic Complex in North Reading http://www.ramsathleticcomplex.com for Major and Minor League players. The sessions will focus on skills development and preparation for the upcoming season. Coaches will run the players through fielding, batting, and pitching drills.

There will be 6 separate sessions, each session is 5 weeks long and the fee per session is $75. All participants will get a t-shirt. The following are the session dates and times:

Session 1: Friday January 27th to March 2nd (no clinic Feb. 3rd) from 8pm to 9pm
Session 2: Saturday, January 28th to March 3rd (no clinic Feb. 11th) from 5pm to 6pm
Session 3: Saturday, January 28th to March 3rd (no clinic Feb. 11th) from 6pm to 7pm
Session 4: Friday, March 9th to April 6th from 8pm to 9pm
Session 5: Saturday, March 10th to April 7th from 5pm to 6pm
Session 6: Saturday, March 10th to April 7th from 6pm to 7pm

Baseball and Softball Majors and Minors have games scheduled for Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu and Sat with practices scheduled for Sun PM starting April 25.  Farm and T-Ball games are scheduled for Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu and Sat starting April 30.

Opening Day - Saturday, April 28, 2012 and starts off with the traditional Little League Parade beginning at Muzzey Condominiums on Mass Avenue. It goes through Lexington Center and ends at Fitzgerald Field (Center-4).

Massachusetts Avenue is closed off by Police Department at 9:15 A.M.
Parade kicks off at 9:30 A.M., sharp

bulletTeams form up by League with each League running across the soccer field and parallel to Massachusetts Avenue. Look for signs for your League along the soccer sideline.
bulletAt 9:30 A.M., Softball T-Ball steps off, followed by Softball Farm League, followed by Softball Minor League etc.
bulletParade ends at Fitzgerald Field ( C4 ) on Park Drive with opening day ceremony.

WE ARE NOT PERMITTED TO ENTER THE MUZZEY CONDOMINIUM PROPERTY!

NO PARKING, NO STOPPING, NO DROPPING PLAYERS OFF IN THE MUZZEY CONDO DRIVEWAY OR IN THE MUZZEY CONDO PARKING LOT.

Photo Day - April 28, 2012 at the LHS Football Field. Individual and team photos are taken at that time. 

All leagues and divisions play their scheduled games.

Saturday April 28 - T Ball and Farm Baseball and Softball games begin.

MAY 2012

Pre-Ball - Starts Saturday, May 5, 2011 (contact Lexington Recreation Dept for details).

Baseball and Softball Majors and Minors have games scheduled for Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu and Sat with practices scheduled for Sun PM.  Farm and T-Ball games are scheduled for Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu and Sat.

Greater Middlesex Summer Baseball League registration opens late May.

June 2012

Baseball and Softball Majors and Minors playoff games scheduled for Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri and Sat with practices scheduled for Sun PM until playoffs are completed.  Farm and T-Ball games are scheduled for Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu and Sat until their season is completed.

Baseball playoffs begin June 7,2012 with finals scheduled for June 16 - 18, 2012

Softball playoffs begin June 4, 2012 with finals scheduled for June 15, 2012

July 2012

Middlesex Baseball starts July 9, 2012
